Mark is an attorney with almost 30 years of experience in tax and business consulting and compliance, and with over 20 years of experience in the areas of estate planning and employee benefits.  Mark began his career with the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young, where he was a tax manager and directed the employee benefits consulting practice for the Denver office. 

 

In 1993, Mark left Ernst & Young to begin his own law practice.  In 2011, he co-founded BISLAW.  Mark’s practice now emphasizes estate planning, business tax and legal work, and employee benefits.  Mark’s experience in the estate planning area is extensive. He has designed and implemented both simple and complex estate plans, including family limited partnerships and LLCs, charitable trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, and revocable living trusts.  In the area of business law, Mark has advised many new businesses in choice of entity and tax matters.  In addition, he has assisted clients with the purchase and sale of their businesses and with business continuation planning. 

 

Mark has designed, implemented, and administered many qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, welfare benefit plans, and equity arrangements.  He has worked with plans of all sizes and has consulted with clients in many different industries.  Mark has also successfully represented many clients in qualified plan examinations conducted by the IRS and Department of Labor.
